In 1994, francophones and Acadians in the region of Rustico founded a non-profit organization named Le Conseil acadien de Rustico to be the representative of the Acadian and Francophone community of the greater Rustico area (Prince Edward Island, Canada).

The Conseil acadien de Rustico (CaR) shares a mission and vision with the École Saint Augustin and Early Years Centre – Les petits rayons de soleil; together we:

  • Gather the Acadian and Francophone communities of the area, in a welcoming, warm and safe environment;

  • Offer rewarding, authentic and innovative, educational and community services

  • Sow the pride of our roots and the love of the French language in the community

  • Work together for the success of our youth and for the growth of the community, promoting our language and culture and the worldwide Francophonie

  • Disseminate the willingness for self-fulfilment and belonging to the Acadien and francophone community of Prince Edward Island and beyond.

Our kids are our future. Our ancestors are our heritage. Our community is us.

« On est fiers de qui nous sommes et du français qu’on parle ici - We’re proud of who we are and of the French we speak here. »
